From late – May until October the village welcomes guests from all over Europe who come to enjoy activities both ‘soft’ and adrenalin fuelled. Aided and abetted by clear mountain air and long sunny days, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Also known as ‘Little Tibet’ Livigno snakes along a broad valley with glorious Alpine panoramas in every direction. The resort has gained fame as a cycling destination, both road and mountain bike, but biking is just one of the many activities which attract guests. These include walking, hiking, horseriding, golf and paragliding.
Nearby Lake Livigno comes to life during the warmer months and is a hive of activity with boat tours, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding on its still, blue water.
Additionally, Livigno is famous as a true ‘Duty Free’ area, and there are more than 250 shops selling a variety of goods at tax free prices. The summer season sets the stage for many outdoor festivals and events including music, culture and sports.
Restaurant and bar choices abound. Sample local dishes such as ‘Pizzoccheri’ as well as classic regional and Italian dishes in a multitude of restaurants. Many of the village bars move outdoors to take advantage of the sunny days and what could be better than enjoying a resfreshing Aperol Spritz in such beautiful surroundings.
